Green asparagus with oyster sauce

Green aparagusIn Asia most people don’t know white asparagus, only the green ones. That’s why I present to you a recipe for green asparagus in Cantonese style. I shall use oyster sauce and soy sauce for its typical flavourĀ 

Green aparagusIngredients:

  • Green asparagus (1 bunch)
  • Garlic (3 cloves)
  • Soy sauce light (1 tablespoon)
  • Oyster sauce (2 tablespoons)
  • Water (half a cup, or 100ml)
  • Sunflower oil

Preparation:

  1. First cut the lower parts of the asparagus, about 2 cm, then wash under the running tap
  2. Bring water to the boil with a pinch of salt, and when the water is boiling, add the asparagus and cook them shortly for 2-3 minutes
  3. Drain asparagus and place them onto a dish
  4. Chop the garlic into fine pieces. Then heat oil in a frying pan or wok and fry the garlic about half a minute
  5. Add soy sauce and oyster sauce, then some water. Stir
  6. Pour the sauce over the asparagus and you’re done!
